North Platte, NE 69101 308/532-3611x169 Affiliated as an "Accredited Arboretum" site since 1981 This is a research/education arboretum emphasizing trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and grasses. Research projects include herbaceous plant breeding and selection, as well as the evaluation of trees, shrubs and turfgrasses. Visitors can see over 100 woody plant species and can also get a glimpse of the University of Nebraska's nationally known plant breeding program that has produced Husker Red Penstemon.
