- The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum was founded in 1978.
- The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum has over eighty affiliate sites (arboretums, historic landscapes and other public gardens) in more than fifty communities. This network is unique in the nation.
- The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum has delivered over $8 million in grants to more than 245 communities resulting in over 1,000 public landscaping projects involving parks, schools, libraries, hospitals, business districts, and other places important to community life.
- The GreatPlants® Program of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum increases the variety of Nebraska-hardy trees, shrubs and other landscape plants available to consumers. Since 1998, it has introduced or released more than 30 new plants.
- The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum is a program unit of the Nebraska Forest Service at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. NSA, Inc. is a private nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS.
